“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”John 15 v12
The words of the Good Shepherd to those he was leaving to care for his flock. Everyone needs a little help sometimes! Pastoral Care provides spiritual, emotional and practical help in times of need.
As brothers and sisters in a church fellowship we all love and care for one another as our family.
“And do not forget to do good and to share with one another, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.“Hebrews 13 v16
One of the ways you can demonstrate your love for the Lord is to be compassionate and caring towards those you encounter at church and in daily life. As our church grows this is most easily done through your Life Group, pulling together when one person is struggling, and in turn being supported by our Life Group in our own time of need.
Additional pastoral support
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.”Galations 6 v2
Sometimes additional support is needed – we have a wonderful pastoral team who can come alongside in times of crisis or emergency. From Hospital visits, to home communion, from accompanying to appointments or meetings, to practical tasks, and from praying and talking through spiritual or emotional problems, to that all important listening ear. Whatever the burden we aim to help by bringing the light and peace of Christ into it, and by being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Supporting our local community
“In the same way let your light shine before others, that they might see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”Matthew 5 v16
We love to support people in the community – those who are not yet part of our church. Bringing the Lord’s love into the community is a powerful act. It may not always be easy but as a child of God He calls us to serve others and bring His light to them.
